Macrogen’s Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) is the future of DNA research, and the applications for this technology have the potential for enhancing individualized patient care. NGS applications include:

Macrogen is committed to supporting students in their educational path. With this in mind, Macrogen is pleased to announce the launch of a scholarship essay contest — the Macrogen Next Generation Scholarship. The essay winner selected will be awarded $2,000 towards their studies.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE
To be eligible, applicants must be US citizens currently enrolled in an accredited 4-year university or college in the US. Applicants must also be enrolled in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics program.

HOW TO ENTER
Any student who fits the eligibility requirements listed above can apply for the Macrogen Next Generation Scholarship. To enter student must submit a 500- 700-word essay, or a video (less than 3 minutes long) on one of the following topics:

Topic 1: What health advancements can be made through Next-Generation DNA Sequencing?

Topic 2: What are the benefits of Whole Genome Sequencing and each person knowing their risk potential for certain diseases?
