Trans Kids and Families of Texas Scholarship

Texas Trans Kids & Families dba DFW Trans Kids and Families will be offering three $1000 scholarships to be used for continuing education after high school graduation. To be eligible to receive a scholarship from DFWTKF, the student must meet the following qualifications:
 Be an openly self-identified transgender or gender non-conforming student.
 Be graduating from high school or continuing into their sophomore year in the year they apply for a scholarship.
 Be a resident of the state of Texas.
 Be a United States Citizen or be a legal immigrant.
 Have a plan to attend an accredited college, university, or vocational school within the United States or Canada.
Proof of acceptance is required.
 Provide an OFFICIAL copy of their high school or college transcript. A signed document from parent for home schooled students will be accepted.
 Complete 1 personal essay as outlined on the application form.
 Provide at least 2 letters of recommendation from non-family members.
 Prepare a list of community involvement achievements and work experience. Extra merit is given to those activities and leadership roles relating directly to the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Non-binary and Transgender communities.
