Texas Builders Foundation Scholarship Program

The focus of the Texas Builders Foundation is to help ensure the future of the residential building industry in Texas. Each year, the foundation awards scholarships to students who are enrolled in construction programs in Texas’ technical and trade schools and colleges and universities.

Young adults graduating from career and technical programs and our colleges and universities are the future business owners of Texas who in turn hire employees and pay taxes. Currently, the home building industry in Texas represents over 702,500 jobs and more than $31.1 billion in the Texas economy. As the state’s population continues to grow and the demand for housing continues to rise, these numbers will increase exponentially, as will the need for construction professionals.

- The applicant must be enrolled for the fall semester as: a student in a Texas technical/trade school or community college/university that offers a building trade certification; or a construction science, management, engineering or related degree, and have at least one full academic year of course work remaining following the award of the scholarship.
- The applicant must be pursuing a construction related trade certification or construction/engineering degree.
- The applicant must demonstrate an interest in obtaining employment in the construction industry or a construction related field upon graduation.
- Preference will be given to: 1) Applicants who are legal residents of Texas. 2) Students who plan to join Texas’ construction workforce.
