Henry William Spaeth

Mr. Spaeth died Aug. 31, 1999, at Gainesville Memorial Hospital:
He was born Feb. 25, 1921, in Lindsay to George and Elizabeth Sandmann Spaeth. He graduated from Lindsay High School and attend­ ed Durham Business College in Dal­ las. On returning to Lindsay, he was employed by Herr Motor Company prior to taking over operation of the family farm. After the army took over the family farm, he moved to the Spring Creek area. On Aug. 26, 1947, he married Marie “Mickey” Felder­hoff in Muenster. After his marriage to Mickey, they eventually moved to I the present home place on 1-35 at’ Spring Creek Road, where he contin­ued fanning until his retirement. He was· involved in Boy Seoul Troop 655 and was a member of the Order of the Arrow. He served1on the
Board of Directors of Hesperian Sav­ings & Loan; First Savings and Con­tinental Savings. He was · treasurer and a long-time member of North Central Texas College Foundation.
He was a member .of St. Mary’s Catholic Church served as an usher and as a former member of the Finance Committee. He received the Zone N Upper Elm-Red Soil and Water Conserva­tion Award for 1998. He was one of the originators of the Red River Farm Co-op. He also served as a board member and appraiser for Muenster Mutual Insurance. He was District Sales Manager for Mississippi Chem­ical Fertilizer and· was a personal friend and associate of Jeny Clower
